September 12, 2023 (North Ogden, Utah)

On July 26, 2023, North View Fire District (“North View Fire”) announced the retirement of Fire Chief David K. Wade. Applications to replace Chief Wade were accepted from August 7th through August 28th.

The North View Fire Board of Trustees (“Board”) appointed a 3-member screening committee comprised of members of the Board to review and screen all applications. North View Fire received a total of 6 applications, which the screening committee narrowed to two finalists. The following are the finalists:

·        Jeremiah Jones (Deputy Chief, North View Fire District)

·        Kristopher Maxfield (Battalion Chief, West Jordan Fire Department)

The screening committee will convene a Public Forum at 5:30 pm on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Station 21 [315 E. 2550 N., North Ogden, UT 84414] where the finalists will give a presentation to and answer questions posed by several stakeholder groups, including fire officers from other fire agencies in Weber County; nominated representatives of North View Fire employees; elected officials from North Ogden, Pleasant View, and Harrisville; and residents from each of those cities.

The finalists will also meet individually with the Board in a closed executive session and in an open public meeting on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, starting at 5:00 p.m. at Station 21.

The Board will make a final decision regarding the selection of the new Fire Chief shortly thereafter.
